Who else finds it ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING that prisoners are given any privileges?

The thing is that prison is about rehabilitation not necessarily punishment and denial of privileges. Rehabilitation cannot happen if the prisoners basic human rights are taken away from and he is caged in a cell 23 hours a day staring at the wall. His attitude towards society will actually worsen. Remember they expect these guys to get out in a few years and they dont want to let loose someone thats been treated like an animal for 10 years. Now, maximum security prison is a different story, those guys are never getting out and their prison life is very inhibited and strict. Remember, the prisoners that are truly insane and will never improve are locked in cells 23 hours a day with nothing.
