Harry Potter Question...?

I was just re-reading Prisoner of Azkaban, and the nerd within me started wondering: If someone with a horcrux received the Dementor's Kiss, would the horcrux save them from the terrible fate? Since it sucks out your soul and a horcrux is a piece of your soul I at first thought it would save them...or do they just save you from dying?
